Diving & Snorkeling

LaTina Divers Bonaire is the onsite dive shop. LaTina Divers offers a wide range of dive services and does so in a small setting; No more than 10 divers we will carry during boat-dives and with guided shore dives and courses we are not shy to offer those to one buddy pair at the time!
Together with the Deep Blue View B&B, the accommodations that house the dive-shop, we have created a few packages that, in our opinion, reflect the way we like to offer our services as well as the diversity of the diving on Bonaire the very best way.

1. Shore Dive-package

Bonaire is world-wide known for the great shore-diving possibilities. Just gear up and walk in and the reef starts on general about 20 to 30 yards from the shoreline. Just you and your buddy, where you prefer to go and when you prefer to go. No need for a guide and no need to have any others around you if you don’t want that. It’s that simple on Bonaire.
About 50 shoredive-sites are awaiting you!

All you need to do is to attend the mandatory Marine Park Orientation (Included in this dive-package) and we will set it all up for you. During the orientation we will also hand out the paperwork (liability/medical statement) for you to complete and sign. For enjoying shorediving the best way and in a safe and comfortable way you do not really need to be an athlete, but, being physical fit makes things a lot easier and way more fun. When diving the northern and southern part of the island on windy days, one needs to be quite fit due to the waves and the surge. We strongly recommend using hard soled booties since the shoreline and entries are pretty rocky. We do have such booties available for rent in case you don’t have them.

• 7 nights Deep Blue View (regular room) including daily breakfast.
• Unlimited independent shore-diving (use of tanks (international), regular air and weights).
• Full Marine Park Orientation (includes MP fee).
• Captain’s Friday-night rumpunch sunset-trip/party followed by our famous BBQ night.

2. Shore & Boat Dive-package

This package includes all the shorediving you like to do as well as 3 luxurious two-tank boatdives. These boat dives offer you the opportunity to also dive the sites not accessible from shore and another advantage is that you will be served one of the famous muffins in-between the dives. The Marine Park Orientation is mandatory (and included) and also is our orientation-dive. During your orientation we will right away set up and schedule your boat dives with you. If you like to do some other/more guided dives just let us know during the orientation and we will arrange that for you right away. Off we go then, it’s dive time; Front Porch is awaiting us for the orientation dive…..

3. Boat Dive-package

This for Bonaire unusual dive-package is especially created for the divers who like to do their diving the easy way; by boat and by boat only!!. Five days of boat diving, 12 dives in total, are included in this package.
No full Marine Park Orientation required, no (underwater) navigation needed, no carrying tanks anywhere and no need for booties.
Just step aboard ‘Me Jadato’ and enjoy. Luxury features like a warm fresh-water shower, different soft-drinks, some fruit, muffins (yes, those "small" but oh so nice ones!!) and, on our 3-tank all-day-dive-trip, a nice and nutritious lunch. All this available on shaded cushioned seats and offered to a limited number of divers per trip. Our brand new custom build boat ‘Me Jadato’, a 36ft Newton, is awaiting you in the Marina. Welcome aboard. Just sit back, relax and enjoy.
Of course do we need to hand out the paperwork (liability/medical statement) for you to complete and sign before we take you out for your first two-tank boatdive of this trip so please, do not forget your certification info!
In case you want to do a shore dive as well we can, of course, set this up for you. We can do that a la carte per dive or you can add unlimited air to this package. Beware, when doing shore diving without a guide a full Marine Park orientation is mandatory. This orientation is included when adding unlimited air for shore diving to this package.

Our Boat Dive-package includes;

• 7 nights Deep Blue View (regular room) including daily breakfast.
• 4 two-tank boatdives.
• 1 three-tank "all-day" boatdive.
• 1 one-tank night boatdive.
• All these boat dives come including the use of weights and full tanks (regular air).
• Divers Nature fee for National Parks (MP fee).
• Captain’s Friday-night rumpunch sunset-trip/party followed by our famous BBQ night.

Gear Storage and Rinse Facilities

Full tanks, rinse-facilities & gear-lockers; All available on the premises and all available 24/7 for divers staying at the Deep Blue View B&B.
Just back up your pickup truck to the end of our secured parking-lot. Here you can find it all; Large personal gear-lockers, large rinse-tanks and our ‘endless’ tank-rack.
The aluminum tanks come with the international valve (yes, the o-ring ones, so, yes, you need to have the yoke 1st stage….) and are available in two sizes; 80 Cuft and (a few) 63 Cuft. For Nitrox divers we also have 100 Cuft tanks available!!

Starting your Dive Trip

Before enjoying all the wonderful shore-diving possibilities Bonaire has to offer, a full Marine Park orientation is mandatory. The morning after your arrival, or for red eye arrivals the morning of your arrival, we will inform you about the Marine Park regulations, inform you about the do’s and the don’ts and we will reveal the secrets on how to find the shore dive-sites. This is also the moment we’ll hand out the paperwork (liability/medical statement) for you to complete and sign. Please, please, please, do not forget to bring a valid proof of your certification!!!! Any agency and any level of certification will do just fine but please do bring it.
After this dry part we go out for the wet part; your orientation-dive.
This dive is simply meant to help you to get started and weighted properly for the Caribbean Sea. After this 15 to 20 minute dive we will leave the water again. Back on dry land we may have some additional tips and hints for you and then it off you go ……. About 50 sites are awaiting you!!
If your last open water shore dive is quite some time ago or if it simply makes you feel better to have some more help before and during your first dive we recommend to reserve a refresher shore-dive. If you want your refresher-dive to be a private one, just you and your dive-buddy, please let us know so we can reserve time for you.

Dive-training

Bonaire is a great destination to get certified and to get spoiled all at once; Here we always have calm water, always have warm water, always have a good visibility and always have lot’s and lot’s of fish to look at!
For the not yet certified we offer two different packages. One that includes an introduction to Scuba Diving, the PADI Discover Scuba Diving (DSD) course and one that includes the full PADI open water certification course.
For the divers who like to gain some more experience under guidens and do want to improve their dive-skills we offer the PADI advanced diver course. Five fun dives, some academics, no exam, a great experience and, upon completion, a new next level certification card. We can include the advanced course in our shore dive-package or you can decide to sign up for it once you are here. What ever works best for you works just fine for us!

It may also be smart to double check if your airline has weight restrictions and additional charges for traveling with dive equipment, maybe you are cheaper of renting with us instead of bringing your own gear.

DBV’s Snorkel package

The snorkeling on Bonaire is just as beautiful as the diving is. For the guests who prefer snorkeling and like to pre-arrange that we offer a package that includes 2 guided snorkel trips. Depending on your personal experience and the weather circumstances of the moment of your stay we will set up these trips for you after your arrival. Our snorkel-package includes;

Starting your Snorkel Trip

Officially there is no Marine Park Orientation required when you come to Bonaire for snorkeling. We do one anyway so we can explain to you what to do and what not to do, where you can expect the best snorkeling the island has to offer and where the entrance(s) are easy and where they might be somewhat challenging.
We will also set up the snorkel-trips included in your package during this orientation and we will hand out the paperwork (liability) for you to complete and sign. After that, off you go…….; The Caribbean Sea is awaiting you!

Please beware

Snorkeling and diving can be strenuous under certain circumstances. Being physical fit and healthy definitely makes your active trip a lot safer and way more fun for all parties involved. When in doubt please do visit your doctor to see if you are fit enough for these activities before finalizing your reservations with us.

A final note

We just love it to make your dive- or snorkel-trip the perfect one no matter what your level of experience is. If you can’t find a package to your liking just let us know and we will look into the possibilities we have and tailor you a package that suits your wishes and/or needs better.
Our listed packages include all island taxes and fees although they are not always specifically mentioned (e.g. touristtax, salestax). Surcharges and other hidden costs do not exist when reserving a package at the Deep Blue View.

Discounts and upgrades

We offer the following ‘travel smart’ discounts on our listed packages;

1. A 5% discount on the package of your choice if your stay starts and ends on a Saturday.
2. A 7.5% discount on the package of your choice if your stay starts and ends on a Saturday and you fly round-trip with the Continental from Houston.
3. An 10% discount on the (combination) package of your choice if your stay starts and ends on a Saturday and you stay at DBV for a minimum of 2 weeks flying round-trip Continental from Houston.

We offer the following upgrades;

1. An upgrade to a stay at the Triggerfishroom, our Master-bedroom, has an additional charge of USD 180.- on either of our packages.
2. An upgrade to the use of Nitrox 32 has an additional charge of USD 60.- on either of our listed dive-packages.
