We're back in the UK (boo) and we're not sure what we're missing the most - the sunshine, the diving, the pool, the hammocks, Bully and Usco or you guys! I think Jim has secretly cancelled my credit card so I can't come straight back :o) Thanks for another great stay. |

Okay we are missing DBV and Bonaire. We stayed at DBV April 14th for 2 weeks and this was our 4th time at DBV so we decided to share our experience! There is nothing like DBV. A wonderful, peaceful, restful vacation.Cant beat the hos-[pitality,the wonderful breakfast and of course the host Ester and Meno.It now is the month of June that we are sending this email which is 2 months later after our vacation and looking for a way to return as soon as possible. For those who are looking for a diffrent experience on a vacation this is a perfect place. The hammock, the privacy or hanging out with others . We havent found anything that is better. Thanks |

We just returned from a week vacation at the Deep Blue View and all I can say is truly unforgettable! Our week at the DBV will go down as one of the best vacations we have ever had and I can't wait to return. The Deep Blue view is a B&B style resort with 5 rooms that that caters to divers with many different packages to meet all your diving needs. What makes the Deep Blue View so special is the personalized service provided by the hosts, Esther and Menno.
Esther and Menno make you feel like family from the moment when you arrive on the island where Menno greets you at the airport and the personalized service never ends until the minute you leave. This includes breakfast cooked masterfully every morning by Esther, boats trips and dives hosted by Menno, complete with his hilarious sense of humor. It goes on and on, from fresh baked muffins on the dives to the end all, the Rum Cruise/BBQ night. Esther and Menno pull out all the stops and put together a feast fit for a king where you can spend the night reminiscing about the amazing week.
Other highlights include Bully and Usco, the 2 dogs that leisurely roam the grounds that provide constant companionship and entertainment for the guests. Bonding with the other guest at the DBV is a welcome treat and finally the diving. This was actually our first dive trip and I could not possibly imagine a better place to dive then Bonaire. The conditions are perfect and Menno is an awesome dive master that makes you totally comfortable with everything going on.
I could not imagine a more relaxing and personal vacation experience. The Deep Blue View is truly a paradise for me and Esther and Menno are friends I hope to spend many more weeks with. There is no question I will be back soon.

Esther and Menno,
Eric and I wanted to thank you again for a wonderful week with you in Bonaire! It was hard to leave the beautiful island and the wonderful breakfasts, but alas, we had to return to our families. You two made it another memorable trip and a honeymoon to remember. I will still need you to tell me exactly how to BBQ the fish as we can never get it right here. That chicken satay was so awesome, how did you do that?
To anyone else that is contemplating staying at DBV...do it! You will have the best time and you couldn't ask for two better hosts than Esther and Menno. Having a made to order breakfast everyday is fantastic and you will go home with the two pounds I always seem to find there! The BBQ night is not to be missed as is the Rum Punch cruise. Everyone that stays at DBV is so friendly and you will make new friends after staying here. I cannot complain about one detail except to say that by leaving this positive review will lessen our chances of availability when we want it. What a problem to have!
Thank you again and hope to see you soon! (In Colorado!!)

"A Perfect Fit" is the best way we could describe our stay at Deep Blue View with Esther and Menno. This was our first time to Bonaire for the singular purpose of shore diving. Well, were we pleasantly surprised. We were made to feel right at home, right away. We had fun with the other guests as well. Esther's omlettes are to kill for and her pleasant personality made it a joy to be around. Menno, well what can I say....good humour and what you see is what you get, good guy. Fun all around. Palm trees, propety well manicured, clean well decorated rooms, secure property, pool, hammocks, great view of sunsets, excellent BBQ evening(s), sunset trips, great diving and on location diving facilties/lockers/wash basins/nitrox availability and guided day or night dives available. What more could we ask for? The intimacy, and pleasant "home like atmosphere" were excellent. The only down side was that we had to leave :-((
Would we go back? You bet. Would we recommend it? Absolutely.
Until the next time...........

For all dive and snorkel enthusiasts who desire personal attention, relaxation and a warm and inviting atmosphere, not to mention spectacular diving and snorkeling you won't find a better location than the Deep Blue View Resort on Bonaire.
Our hosts Menno, Esther, Sandra, Bully & Usco made us feel at home right away and made our vacation one to remember. They have set the bar very high for any future vacations that we will take.
We would definitely go to the D.B.V. again and have recommended it to our friends.

Oh, how we now know the luxuries of Bonaire by staying at DBV B& B!!
We can't tell you how much we enjoyed the location of this wonderful establishment[removed from the commotion of the tourist areas]; the view of the sea below; and the attention to detail....but REALLY why we visited Bonaire was to DIVE, DIVE, DIVE...and that we did. Finding this little hidden jewel in accommodations was such an unexpected pleasure that we immediately booked our next trip there already! Esther's breakfasts match those in the finest restaurants in both taste and presentation, and Menno's expertise in diving makes even the newest diver feel like they've been a diver all of their lives by the time you leave there. Thank you Esther and Menno, [and Bully & Usco] and Sandra, for the lovely time you showed us while in Bonaire. We'll be right back there before you know it!! |

I have just returned from a magical week at the Deep Blue View. Everything was excellent and my expectations were far exceeded. Menno and Esther are truly outstanding hosts that go out of their way to make sure you have a wonderful vacation. The scuba diving on the island is really exceptional and the DBV is perfectly suited for the diver. You will be hard pressed to find a better value for your vacation dollar anywhere.
Our trip began with Menno providing a friendly greeting at the airport. In our rental pickup truck we followed him to the DBV up in the hills overlooking the ocean and Klein Bonaire. It sure looked complicated at the time but soon we found our way around. The DBV is set up perfectly for a small B&B. There are hammocks, plenty of chairs, shade, a large dining table and a refrigerator and freezer that are shared by the guests. In addition, there are lockers and rinse tanks available for your dive gear. I loved the laid back atmosphere from the moment I walked through the gate. The two beautiful black labs Bully and Usco were out lounging by the pool in the afternoon sun.
Each day begins with hot coffee, juice, fruit and the breakfast of your choice cooked to perfection by Esther. She will make you anything you want including, eggs, toast, pancakes or French toast. I had her make me an egg white omelet every morning and it was cooked perfectly. Boat diving is done at a leisurely pace with the group leaving the DBV at about 9:30am for a short trip to the harbor. Menno is an excellent dive master and well adept at finding special things such as sea horses, octopus or frog fish. The dive boat is small but has plenty of room to accommodate a small group. Esther bakes fresh muffins that are a real treat during your surface interval. Afternoons were spent back at the DBV where we prepared our own lunch using the refrigerator at the DBV and enjoyed some cold beer. This was a time for relaxation and reflection after the excellent boating diving. In the evenings we went out to dinner and found several good restaurants in town. The fresh fish is abundant in the restaurants and so tasty.
During your stay you will get to know your fellow guests well and this is part of the fun of staying at the DBV. Each group was plenty friendly and passionate about scuba diving, which was really fun. I enjoyed learning about them and interacting with them on a daily basis. Most places you stay you will never interact with other guests at a resort – at the DBV it is the opposite since you each breakfast with them and dive with them daily. As a testament to how popular the DBV is one of the couples was there for the fourth time and planning their fifth trip.
I can’t say enough about the time that I had at the DBV. The diving was exceptional, the DBV was so relaxing and comfortable and I loved my hosts Esther and Menno and their two lovely dogs. I’m already thinking about coming back next year.

Well what more can we say. It was my second trip and Jan's first to the wonderful island of Bonaire and back to Deep Blue View with Menno and Esther. Very little had changed, still the same wonderful breakfasts on the terrace from Esther, relaxing by the pool or in a hammock and the laid back boat dives with Menno complete with the obligitory 49 min Muffin break (and what delicious muffins.) Menno is an excellent dive guide showing us things we could never pick out and always full of advice and help. I cannot leave out Esther as it was her that led us on a night dive to Town pier and found us a seahorse and all the brilliant colours.
For us a brilliant relaxing home to stay in. Thank you and as I put two years ago when I found DBV with my children, we do hope to return
Thanks

Hosts Esther and Menno made our stay in Bonaire very special! The room, the food, the good advice on where to snorkel and where to go to dinner - all above and beyond what we would have expected. Deep Blue View is lovely, we want to come back! Bonaire is a magical place - for those of us who want to experience the undersea world as unspoiled as it gets! |
