Deep Blue View News:
Tweetie has given “birth” to a healthy triplets a few weeks ago. She is busy now with feeding her kids which is an interesting thing to look at while rocking in one of the rocking-chairs during an umbrella drink (or two).
It is slowly getting warmer again. Although is was pretty cloudy the last few weeks with an unusual strong wind it feels like summer is coming. I know it might sound kind of odd, but, the 4 to 5 degrees warmer do make a difference! If only the Caribbean Sea was about to get somewhat warmer too. Wimps like me don’t like 79F. ‘We’ like 82F!! (and up)
Sandra emailed us that she is doing great back home in Venezuela. She has found a job and decided to go back to school to finish up where she left 8 years ago. Must be tough and busy for sure that all in combination with 2 kids growing up…… Also being back in civilization she experienced positive as well as negative. Having ‘everything’ handy is great, but having nowhere to be ‘alone’ without any noise takes some time to get used to again. I hope she hangs in there and I am glad she updated us with that experience. For sure I couldn’t get used to that again so island life it is for me…..
Erika turned out to be a wonderful replacement. With her everlasting smile, her eye for detail and sweet and positive personality we are very, very happy and we sincerely hope she stays with us for ever!
The new second hand camera and housing Paul & Shelly smuggled in does a great job. As expected, I now ‘need’ to upgrade my computer to be able to download the images and to ‘play’ with them (sofar this means delete 95% …L) By now Paul & Shelly have left again. How time flies! It was fun having them around for their 5th stay. They already have finalized their reservations for coming September which will give me the change to take them to Cai in return for their smuggling activities. The wind was simply to strong over the two weeks they were here for that dive……
With things slowing down somewhat during low-season we have decided to start with some renovation work. The Triggerfishroom is the first and biggest project for now. The room and bathroom will be undergoing a complete make-over. Sadly on the island it seems to be impossible to get new bathroom furniture so we go to Curacao for that somewhere next week. I am also looking into ordering it all in the USA so Paul & Shelly can bring it instead their dive-gear which they left here….. When packing smart it must be doable; One bath-tub; Two sinks; Three faucets; One complete shower and just a few other small items…... We’ll see…..Also the ‘observation-deck will be undergoing a complete make-over. The ladder up will be replaced by a concrete stairs. There will be more shade underneath the deck and some more room for (shaded) launch-chairs. Work will start half-way July and the deck should be finished half-way August. The Triggerfishroom is due to be finished at the end of September……. That’s all for now.
If something happens I will let you know.
