Deep Blue View News:

Just a few more days and June has passed by already. Time flies in paradise…….

Tweetie still is busy with her nest. The youngsters have taken off but it looks as if she goes for another “round”. She better first do some renovation works to her ‘house’…. it is slowly falling apart..…..

The weather has been great lately. In the mornings somewhat cloudy but during the day it clears up so we have those clear blue skies you always see on postcards most afternoons. Great sunsets although the sky does not color up so beautiful red without having clouds. No rain or whatsoever for about 10 weeks now which makes the island turn greyer and greyer…… Some rain would do the garden good. Due to the collecting of our shower-water we can water enough sofar so it looks great. The bananatrees are growing like crazy. Frequently we have been able to enjoy ‘home-grown’ bananas. We are also considering to create a small vegetable garden and grow things like bell-peppers and tomatoes. Keeping the lizards and iguana’s out will be the biggest challenge. Bully and Usco seem not mind it anymore if these little creatures roam around through the garden lately…..Hmmmmmm….. They may need some retraining here. Sofar I can keep up their daily afternoon walk up pretty good. It looks as if it sort of drains a big part of their energy which can be the cause of not ‘hunting’ for these da…(oops) lizards and iguana’s.

We sadly have a small problem at ‘my office’; the starter-engine decided to turn in it’s notice a little over two weeks ago and quit working right away. It came like thunder on a clear day and we where absolutely not prepared for something like this, especially because the dealer assured me we bought the best engine in the industry. Because of this ‘brand-arrogance’ of the Evinrude dealers non of them have replacement parts on stock…… Also we have to deal with the not so fun part of living on a small rock somewhere in the middle of the aquarium called Caribbean Sea….. Receiving the goods you ordered takes time… lot’s of time…… Hmmmmmm……. Sigh…… Luckily Peter can make time available to help out here so we still are able to offer boat-dives. Hopefully the replacement starter will be here soon now because next week we will be very busy again with boatdiving and so is Peter……

We managed to get the needed items on Curacao for the renovation of the Triggerfishroom. That was a great relieve I can assure you. We have chosen not to install a new Jacuzzi but a regular bath-tub instead. Jacuzzi-tubs are not available in bathroom size anywhere here. We are very much looking forward to start with the renovations.

Julie & Chris surprised me in a good way upon their arrival. After settling in they came out of their room with……YES, with a 6-pack of Fat-Tire in their hands. Thanks once again Chris & Julie.!!!! I enjoy one during the BBQ night. Yummy!!!!

That’s all for now. If anything happens I will let you know.

PS – Although not mentioned on our website anymore, we still offer our 2010 packages at the 2009 rates when finalizing your reservations before the end of July.
