Deep Blue View News:
The day before yesterday Tweetie “kicked out” her two kids. After a few clumsy try-out flights the kids took off both in a different direction. I hope live will treat them good….We haven’t seen Tweetie back since so I wonder if she will re-use her nest once again. We’ll see…..
My office was back in business just in time. We had some wonderful dives with one unusual sighting for Bonaire; A hugh Loggerhead turtle was napping on a sandy patch in just 20 feet on water. He (or she??) allowed us pretty close although at some point it started to threaten somewhat when I came to close. Quite impressive I can tell you when a turtle that size opens its beak towards you…… I never saw that before and was not completely sure if it was threatening but I backed out anyway….. I realized that the camera has a zoom function also for close-ups….:-))
The re-construction of the observation-deck goes well. Just as any (re-)construction it turns out to be a little more work then expected so it will take a little longer as planned. They guys do work their butts off to get it done and their effort do pay off; It really turns out quite beautiful and we are very, very happy we started on this project. At least, looking at the mess it still is, we keep on telling to ourselves we are very happy we started this project……When the deck is finished the crew will pick up where they left of in the Triggerfishroom. All the demolition, drilling and other nasty and noisy jobs are done over the last weeks already to prevent any inconvenience for guests staying with us the coming weeks as much as possible. It looks quite eehhh…. “strange” the empty room I can tell you. Also with this project we keep on telling to each other how really glad we are with starting it.
Sofar hurricane-season did not really start it seems. No named storms sofar. Let’s hope this year will pass by without any nasty ones or, at least, without any strong ones making landfall somewhere. I have my fingers crossed for that! Sunday morning (early, early) the first guests arrive again after our summer-break. Don’t you guys feel sorry for us now that we have to go out and dive again almost every day….:-))
That’s all for now. If anything happens I will let you know.
