Deep Blue View News:
I know rabbits have the name, but, here on Bonaire the Donkey’s and the Tweetie’s do it (also….) Tweetie, probably inspired by our (re)construction activities, started to re-build her nest to the latest fashion, model and standards. It seems as if she has a little more luck with the needed materials since she has moved in already again and did what Tweetie’s seem to do…….. Not that we have any problems (yet…), because our tiles will really and for sure arrive now 3 weeks ago……Hmmmm….. Island charm I guess……. I am just lucky we have taken this road a few times before and ordered the tiles for a delivery 5 weeks before we actually need them so we are still on schedule. It took me a while to get used to the way “they” work here.
Speaking of rabbits, I heard last weeks divers have seen the illusive sea-rabbit again. It has not been seen for a few months, but it seems the (oh so cute) creature made it back to the Bonairian reefs. Hopefully I will see it sometimes soon too…..
Yesterday we (finally) had rain again. The island was in a desperate need of it. The afternoon was dry again and, the sun came out again a bit also. That was a nice and unexpected surprise after such a morning. Today the weather is back to the usual weather for this time of the year; Partially cloudy, sunny, not much wind and HOT!
Yesterday evening I was looking into what’s up for the coming weeks and months while enjoying a freshly smuggled in Fat Tire (thanks Heather & Brett!). We where also sort of celebrating that we finally have decided to upgrade ‘my office’. It has taken us 2 years of hesitating but we have decided to go for it; We have ordered ourselves a new boat. We are quite exited and are really looking forward to the arrival in the beginning of January 2010. What a way to start a new year!!! We also have created a new package that includes boat-diving only. This package is created for those who don’t want to hassle with shore diving and can only be sold for a stay after the new boat has arrived. This package is not to be found on our website (yet) since we want to try out first if it will be a successful package. It is quite unusual for a resort on Bonaire to offer a dive-package without shore-diving….. Since we already have a package that is called boat dive-package we now have to find a fitting name for it or rename (some) of the others. That is for later, it’s not 2010 just yet, although time seems to go a lot faster then lot’s of other things on a small Caribbean island…….:-)) We do not have a name yet for the new boat although we are pretty close.
The new package includes;
- 7 nights Deep Blue View including daily breakfast.
- 7 days regular pickup truck (stick shift car) including CDW insurance.
- Nature fee for divers.
- 4 two-tank boat-dives each.
- 1 three-tank boat-dive each.
- 1 one-tank night boat-dive each.
- Captain’s rumpunch sunsettrip followed by our famous BBQ evening
- Meet and greet at Flamingo airport.
- Package-price for 2 persons US$ 2350.- excluding touristtax.
For a stay during the months of May, June & July 2010 we offer the new package at a discounted rate; Only US$ 1990.- for 2 persons. The only restrictions are: Your stay needs to start and end on a Saturday and we only sell this package at the discounted rate before the boat has arrived on Bonaire. Don’t wait to long if you want to have the advantage of this discounted rate because time does fly…..
I read in this morning’s newspaper that most airlines around the wold are starting with discounted rates to fill their planes. We also have some weeks of availability left before Christmas so to make it even more interesting to travel before the Christmas holidays we have a special offer as well for the weeks we have availability left on our most popular package; the all-in dive-package. On our ‘specials’ page I have listed these weeks and for real last-minute availability and pricing you also may want to check our last-minute page every now and then…..
That’s all for now. If anything happens I will let you know.
