Deep Blue View News:

During the first week of December we went to Slidell (LA) to check upon the status of our new boat. The week before going there I double checked the temperature for New Orleans and found the given 70F a very acceptable temperature for us wimps from the Caribbean. The day after me checking the temperature went way down which resulted in us being not properly prepared….. Gladly the guys at Newton where able to lend us a warm coat.We where able to test ride the boat in the open water and I was really, really happy with the result. Wow, that boat is something else! We also had a few personal wishes in terms of the lay-out which came out really beautiful as well. That simply meant the boat was about ready for transportation to Bonaire….! Looking into the exact options we had we decided to postpone the transportation till the beginning of January. I did not want to have the boat sitting in some port over Christmas completely ready with the keys in it…… January 8 we scheduled to be the big day. Sadly that date seemed impossible so we had to postpone it for another week….. January 15 it sailed from Port Everglades, Miami with destination Bonaire…. Scheduled arrival date Friday January 22. Guess what…..yep, indeed. New date; Tuesday January 26….. I can’t even get close describing how excited I am….. Remember that feeling when we were kids; Looking at the presents under the Christmas-tree and wishing Christmas was now and hoping that big one was yours….. 

Our return to Bonaire was sort of exciting and unusual as well. We were scheduled to arrive about two hours later then the first guests were arriving….. Gladly one couple stayed with us before so we contacted them and explained the situation….. Thanks Bill & Monica for taking such good care of Ellen & Don!! 

One week later we where very fortunate to be able to welcome Miki & Steven for their 10^th stay with us. They now are officially Deep Blue View ambassadors! Our first!!! Thanks Miki & Steven. See you back here in April for nr. 11…… 

New Years we spend with our families back home in the Netherlands. Again we made the stupid mistake of underestimating cold weather……. Holland was pretty cold and covered in snow which is very unusual but beautiful. Sneezing and coughing we made it back safely to Bonaire. This time we scheduled it the right way and arrived the day before the new guests were. It was very, very nice to see everybody back home again but it felt so good to be back here…….where it is warm……all year round…..
