Deep Blue View News:

Things start somewhat slow this week every morning. I don’t want to call our guests lazy, but I haven’t found a good replacement word yet. Today especially since it is one of those ARP&BBQ mornings (After RumPunch & BarB’Que) and the ‘punch’ on the boat did it somewhat better then the salad’s during dinner…J) The idea is to go and dive Cai this morning for Doris’ birthday…..(sshhhh present…) but it is quite windy…..Hmmmm…. Better to postpone it till tomorrow but let’s see how the participants feel……

The weather turned back to normal. Not so cloudy anymore so the not so hot-tub is actually turning nice and warm. I also reinstalled the canopy on the boat to create shade again. Looks a lot better and it stops our divers from their lobster imitations. We did not see rain for over three weeks now so the island is slowly turning brownish and grayish again. The Donkey’s wonder around closer to the houses, which upsets our dogs somewhat. The (humming-)birds come and feed again in the garden. They did not find our Humming-bird feeder yet – hopefully they will one of these days. We also were surprised to see a realy colorful Parrot in the bushes last week and still wonder where the juvenile crocodile came from….. We caught it and released it into the mundi (bushes across the street) and hope it finds it’s way home. I also hope his (her) home is far away from ours…..

Tweetie gave up on his new house. Sorry Donna!!. He overdid things and tried to build to high. We had to put his ‘sky-scraper’ back two times after falling out. It seems even the birds are building to high these days…..

The water is getting clearer and clearer. The vis is back up to 80 / 100Ft again. Still somewhat chilly ( da….(oops) cold for me….) with the 79F it still is but the fish seem not to care. They are building nests too and, hopefully, they do it somewhat smarter then Tweetie did it and we can enjoy lot’s of new life on the reefs soon. I like those dives with lot’s and lot’s of fish everywhere.

Sofar it is still not known to us if it would be possible to dive one of the piers ever again. Every time we check we get the answer that it is not safe for diving and snorkeling. Strange. It seems strong enough for docking a huge Cruise Ship during the day. I never knew that when the sun goes down the structure of a pier weakens…. I am so glad our Harbor Master knows these kind of things ……

We started offering night-dives by boat. We went a few times now to Small Wall which is a realy nice, easy and relatively shallow dive. We also like to try Jerry’s reef sometime soon to see what that one is like at night….. Never been there in the dark so we will see…….Sadly we can’t bring muffins when nightdiving since the solar-oven does not work that well in the dark. We bring another “refreshment” so no worries. I kind of like this one even better….. You’ll see…. All you need to do is to join in…..

My camera has (finally) died three days ago I guess. It does not focus anymore. I will take it to Tim at Fish-Eye Photo later today and hope he can’t (oops…) fix it. I have found the one I like to have quite some weeks ago already so all I need to look into now is how to get it here. I still do not feel really comfortable with this internet shopping. I still like to see, touch and try out things first before buying. Am I getting ‘old-fashioned’ now???.

Some sad news; Bill won a price you don’t want to win. Bill won ‘the least fortunate guest ever’ price!. Upon arrival he had a somewhat sore back a decided not to dive the first day. Smart choice, especially since they (Bill & Monica) were to stay for full 2 weeks, so time enough……. On his second dive day he twisted his ankle…..Auw!! …. Ah, well, just a few no diving days we all thought ……. Yep, right! That turned out to be a non diving trip for Bill….. The ankle was broken and Bill even had to have surgery! I hope things heal fast and well Bill. Just to help you to forget this as soon as possible we will not send you physical proof of the winning of this price for you to display.

Some good news; By now I guess Abigail has received her open water certification card. Use it wise and often Abi and once again congratulations on a job well-done.

And the best news; We were very fortunate to find a good replacement for Sandra; Erika. We are extremely happy with Erika and hope she will stay with us for a long time.

That’s all for now. If anything happens I will let you know.
