Deep Blue View News:

During our boatdives we did over the last week or so I noticed some changes; I did not see the Sea-cow loaded with folks all stuffed in orange vests anymore. It now sits docked in the Marina next to our boat awaiting ….eeehhhh…. I also did not see the Samur stacked up two-stories high motor-sailing to the same area as the sea-cow always does. It’s parked on it’s mooring. No packed water-taxi’s racing up and down between down-town and no name beach anymore and also that realy ugly boat, the Aquaspace, has disappeared.Under water fish look happier suddenly and we also see less mess like those ‘white-plastic-souvenir-shop-kind-of-plastic-bags’ drifting from down-town towards Klein Bonaire. What’s up here……??

When driving towards town during the last week or so I also noticed changes;I did not see taxi van’s and busses driving around like race-cars. I did not see the ocean front road closed for all traffic other then taxi’s and other racing-cars anymore. I did not see the ‘market’ down-town being build up anymore. You know this market probably; On this market some Dutch ‘retired’ people sell there ‘made-in-taiwan-local-art-extremely-high-quality-products’ to crawling by tourists. I also did not see these ‘bright-white-socked-tourists’ (yes, those big ones who try to pull them up till over their knees) wondering around like a herd of fa. (oops) ants not knowing what to do and where to go.The birds look happier and the streets are clean suddenly even late afternoon. What’s up here…..??

Tweetie has returned to his/her abandoned nest again and has stopped trying to build it bigger and bigger. What’s up here…..??

I just thought for a long time that the only seasonal changes Bonaire had was ‘high-season’ and ‘low-season’ During one of these seasons airlines and most hotels offer the same kind of services as they always do suddenly at a different (yes, higher of course!) rate.Since the other seasonal changes are relatively new to this island I did not realize it just yet, but now I got it. The interns at TCB have not made up an official name for this season yet so let me make a suggestion; ‘Quality-season’ and ‘Crock-season’. Probably some of you can come up with a better name and I would love to hear those. For the ones who have never been to Bonaire before or came here before those seasonal changes ‘enriched’ our beloved island; ‘Crock-season’ comes by boat. Big boats!

That’s all for now. If something happens I will let you know.
